He also served as the Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer at Irwin Union Bank, headquartered in Indianapolis and present in ten other States in the Midwest and Western Geographic Region.
Ron has over 20 years of experience as an independent consultant, and in various management roles where he has led technology and organizational strategy development and execution. This includes tenures at Andersen Consulting (now Accenture), McDonalds Corporation, and Price Waterhouse Coopers (Now IBM Global Services). An electrical engineer by trade, Ron managed various design teams on multiple Avionics Systems for the F-16 and A-12 aircraft early in his career.
Ron holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from Southern University, an MBA (with a concentration on Corporate Strategy and Systems Management) from the Ross Business School at The University of Michigan, and is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP).
The Virtual Learning Complex
Being a son of veteran elementary school teachers, Ron is as passionate about education as he is about technology (probably even more so). His vision for LAUSD is one of a 21st century learning environment that supports a computing device for every student, facilitating anytime, anywhere learning opportunities, while expanding educators’ professional development capacities, and providing new communication and collaboration channels for students (view the IT Strategic Execution Plan).
The video below describes Ron's vision of the IT Eco-system that the IT division is responsible for building and maintaining.
